Interface Overview

When you first open Soufflé, the interface might feel unfamiliar if you're coming from traditional project management tools. That's intentional. Instead of starting with a blank task list, Soufflé guides you through a specific sequence designed to prevent the planning mistakes that derail hardware projects.

Understanding how the interface works will help you move confidently through your planning process and take advantage of the built-in safeguards that keep your timeline realistic.

Main navigation tabs

The five workflow spaces run across the top: Diagram → Resource Plan → Checks → Visualize → Export

Sequential workflow
  • 5 project space views:
  • Diagram: Build your dependency map connecting tasks to your project goal
  • Resource Plan: Add time estimates and notes to each task
  • Checks: Validate your plan and identify critical path
  • Visualize: Review your automatically generated Gantt chart
  • Export: Create stakeholder-ready PNG and CSV files
  • Anytime you add something in Resource Plan, you can review Checks to validate your progress
  • You must resolve all errors in Checks before Visualize and Export become available — this prevents incomplete planning from generating misleading timelines
Right sidebar
  • Three-dot menu displays project name and last saved time, and provides access to Dashboard, project settings, force save project
  • Displays task details, error cards, or export options depending on context
Project management
  • Dashboard access: Return to view all your projects
  • Project Settings: Edit project details, delete projects
Mobile and tablet

Soufflé works on tablets with basic functionality. For full planning workflow, use a desktop or laptop computer.
